2020 - 2023 Senior Developer, Architect, Consultant

As a seasoned senior developer, I transitioned into the roles of an architect and consultant in 2020, extending my technical expertise into leadership and strategic directions. At Aurity, I spearheaded the development of an innovative site builder, refining web development practices within the team. As an architect at Alpacas, I conceptualized, designed, and launched a highly scalable mobile application for iOS and Android, managing the project from ideation to completion in just six months. This successful venture was followed by a consulting role at McKinsey, where I handled comprehensive project optimizations and led the upgrade to React 18 and transition to GraphQL for a large-scale project. Each role in this period expanded my understanding of technologies like React, Apollo GraphQL, Next.js, and AI tools, continually driving me to create solutions that don't just function well, but also deliver outstanding user experiences.

2013 - 2000 Senior Developer, J&J MedTech

They say I wanted to be a doctor as a child, but I found that I preferred to understand the world by breaking and fixing things, hence, I ended up as an engineer. At J&J MedTech, I was entrusted with a multitude of projects ranging from the development of the Hospital Client App to the Hospital Assist AI. The emphasis was not only on delivering solutions but on pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve in healthcare. My role extended beyond the realm of traditional programming, diving into data science and IoT as I worked on AI-driven applications such as the Surgical Player. The experience was enriched further as I dived into the world of React and Apollo GraphQL, growing as a professional while shaping solutions that were more than just the sum of their parts. I had the privilege of collaborating with brilliant minds in cross-functional teams, continually learning and innovating. Though my career may have strayed from the path of a traditional doctor, I found myself right in the heart of healthcare. The difference was, instead of a stethoscope, I was armed with code, and with it, I aimed to bring about a revolution in the healthcare industry.

2006 - 2013 Founder and Lead Developer, Web Studio

I took my first big leap in the tech world by establishing a web studio, focused on creating high-performing websites. Over seven years, I had a hands-on role in developing and overseeing more than 200 tailored websites. My team and I honed our skills to provide solutions that not only met, but often surpassed, our clients' unique business objectives. These websites, optimized for sales, traffic, and user engagement, collectively generated over $10 million in revenue for local companies. This success was a testament to our dedication to delivering excellent quality and efficiency. A key to our accomplishments was understanding the power of visibility. We leveraged SEO strategies and innovative advertising campaigns to enhance website traffic, significantly boosting sales and profitability for our clients. Deeply understanding our clients' needs was crucial. By fostering robust relationships, we were able to deliver results that greatly enhanced the effectiveness of our clients' online presence. Most importantly, we crafted web pages that were not just aesthetically appealing but were true revenue generators, echoing the adage "form follows function." This rewarding journey instilled in me the belief that technology truly can make people's lives better, shaping the course of my future endeavors.

Childhood

A fascination with technology marked my childhood, beginning with hours spent bringing my imagination to life with Lego. My first encounter with a computer in my father's office in 1996 sparked a curiosity that would define my career. I pored over DOS commands and reveled in the magic of gaming. By 1998, I had my own Pentium II OverDrive. In the pre-internet age, my knowledge came from handbooks and demo-CDs from gaming magazines. The introduction to open-source through Linux led me to appreciate the power of collective creation. My first brush with the internet in 2002 was a mesmerizing experience, full of chat rooms, flash animations, and the patience-testing image load times. I built my first website in 2005 for a friend's PC club, which included managing my first MySQL database. The same year, I discovered Ubuntu and embarked on a challenge to run games like World of Warcraft on Linux, surpassing its performance on Windows. This hands-on encounter with problem-solving ignited a passion for engineering that continues to drive me today.
